Ramadan family food packs were distributed among 350 underprivileged families in Ulipur Upazila of Kurigram district under the initiative of the non-governmental development organization “Social Agency for Welfare and Advancement in Bangladesh” (SAWAB) on Thursday, March 28, 2024. The distribution took place at Kishorepur School grounds of Thentarai Union.
Each Ramadan Family Food pack contains 25 kg of rice, 4 kg of flour, 1 kg of salt, 1 kg of sugar, 1 kg of dal, 2 liters of soybean oil, 1 kg of gram, 1 kg of onion, 1 kg of garlic, and 1 packet of family-size noodles.
Present at the distribution ceremony were Ulipur Upazila Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Golam Hossain Montu, Ulipur Upazila Awami League Joint Secretary Nimai Singh, prominent businessman Mizanur Hasan Shamu, prominent social worker Shah Azizur Rahman Tarun, and the headmaster of Gunaigach Pilot High School. Also in attendance were journalists from various levels and dignitaries of the region.
Representing SAWAB were Mr. Mohammad Aftabuzzaman, Director of Operations, Mr. Lokman Hossain, Program Manager, and Mr. Md. Khorshed Alam, Deputy Manager of Fundraising & IT. The chief guest, along with other special guests from the government, commended the various developmental and service works of SAWAB and expressed good wishes for the organization.
