Project Objectives:

  1. Increase income and employment opportunities: This project aims to create integrated and adaptive livelihood development programs that will boost income and employment for poor and extremely poor households. By providing resources such as rickshaws, vans, grocery shops, cows, and goats, we aim to enable these households to engage in profitable activities that can sustain their families and improve their living standards.
  2. Reduce economic risks caused by natural hazards: Natural hazards pose significant threats to the economic stability of the targeted communities. This project seeks to implement strategies that minimize these risks, ensuring that the economic activities of the beneficiaries are resilient and sustainable in the face of such challenges.
  3. Build community capacity: We will focus on enhancing the capacity of the targeted communities to identify, produce, finance, and market both agricultural and non-agricultural products. This includes providing training and resources for micro-enterprises, which will empower these communities to become more self-reliant and economically stable.
  4. Expand sustainable livelihoods, food security, and nutrition: By implementing a range of livelihood activities and providing necessary support, this project will work towards expanding the food security and nutritional status of the poor, extremely poor, and other marginalized communities. This holistic approach ensures that the beneficiaries can achieve a higher quality of life.
  5. Provide livelihood support and healthcare: Vulnerable families in the target areas will receive livelihood support focused on sustainability, alongside essential healthcare services and skills training. This integrated approach will ensure that these families are equipped to maintain and improve their livelihoods in a sustainable manner.
  6. Promote community-based organizations: To ensure long-term sustainability, the project will promote the formation and growth of business-oriented community-based organizations. These organizations will adopt collective production and marketing techniques, thereby enhancing the economic stability and resilience of the communities.

Appeal for More Funds:

Dear Donors and Supporters,

We are reaching out to you with an urgent appeal for additional funding to support our critical project aimed at enhancing sustainable livelihoods and food security for the most vulnerable populations in Bangladesh. Despite the generous contributions from NAHAR (USA), MGR (UK), Local Fund, and Islamic Aid (UK), the need for further financial support is pressing.

Our project targets 500 beneficiaries across Dhaka, Kurigram, and Khulna, providing them with essential resources such as rickshaws, vans, grocery shops, cows, and goats. These resources are pivotal in creating income-generating opportunities and ensuring the economic empowerment of poor and extremely poor households. However, to fully realize our objectives and extend our impact, additional funds are necessary.

The economic landscape in these regions is fraught with challenges, particularly for those living in poverty-stricken areas. Natural hazards frequently disrupt their livelihoods, exacerbating their vulnerability. With your support, we can implement comprehensive risk reduction strategies, ensuring that the beneficiaries are equipped to withstand and recover from such adversities.

Moreover, building the capacity of these communities is crucial for their long-term economic stability. Our project includes extensive training programs in production, financing, and marketing, but scaling these initiatives requires more resources. Enhanced training will enable beneficiaries to diversify their income sources and engage in profitable micro-enterprises.

Food security and nutrition are at the heart of our mission. By expanding our reach and providing more robust support, we can ensure that the targeted communities achieve sustainable livelihoods and improved nutritional status. This, in turn, will contribute to their overall well-being and development.

Healthcare and skills training are integral components of our project. Vulnerable families need continued support to maintain their health and develop the skills necessary for sustainable livelihoods. Additional funding will allow us to enhance these services, ensuring that beneficiaries receive comprehensive care and training.

Lastly, promoting business-oriented community-based organizations is vital for long-term sustainability. These organizations will drive collective production and marketing efforts, fostering economic resilience within the communities. Your contributions will help us nurture these organizations, ensuring they can effectively support their members.

In conclusion, we appeal to your generosity and commitment to social justice. Your additional funding will make a significant difference in the lives of 500 vulnerable families, providing them with the tools and resources they need to build a brighter, more secure future. Together, we can create lasting change and empower these communities to overcome poverty and thrive.

Thank you for your continued support.
