Our Chairman, S. M. Rasheduzzaman, recently had the honor of meeting with Haznah Md Hashim, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh, and Lillianne Fan Yee Ying. The meeting also included the presence of the Malaysian ex-Foreign Minister and Prof. Abu Noman Faruq Ahmad. The primary focus of their discussion was on enhancing support for refugees and fostering international cooperation.

During the meeting, the participants explored various strategies to improve the conditions for refugees and ensure better support mechanisms are in place. They emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between nations to address the challenges faced by refugees, particularly in the areas of shelter, healthcare, education, and vocational training.

The discussions highlighted the necessity of strengthening partnerships between organizations and governments to create sustainable solutions for refugee communities. S. M. Rasheduzzaman expressed SAWAB’s commitment to working closely with international partners to provide comprehensive support to refugees and to advocate for policies that promote their well-being and integration into society.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to continue dialogues and explore joint initiatives aimed at enhancing refugee support and international cooperation. This collaboration underscores the shared responsibility and collective effort needed to address the global refugee crisis effectively.
