SAWAB Distributes 2000 Food Packs and Essentials for 605 Orphan Students at Rohingya Refugee Camps

In a heartfelt initiative to support Rohingya refugees, SAWAB recently distributed 2000 food packs and essential items to 605 orphan students, including clothing, hot meals, and toys, generously funded by our esteemed Australian donors. Held over October 22, 23, and 24, 2024, the distribution events gathered SAWAB officers, local leaders, and our dedicated donors at the Rohingya refugee camps, with the support of the CIC (Camp-in-Charge).

During their visit, the donors toured several impactful projects supported by SAWAB, including three schools, a water station, shelter facilities, a mosque, and other vital community services. These tours provided our donors with a firsthand view of how their contributions are transforming the lives of refugees and enhancing community resilience.

Leading the distribution effort were SAWAB’s Chairman, S. M. Rasheduzzaman, along with key team members such as Director of Operations Mohammad Aftabuzzaman, Program Manager Md. Lokman Hossain Talukdar, Deputy Manager of Fundraising & IT Md. Khorshed Alam, Assistant Manager Abu Sayeed Molla, and Senior Officer Tuhin Mahmud. Their dedication ensured that aid was distributed efficiently, reaching the most vulnerable families and orphan students.

The presence of donors, SAWAB representatives, and local leaders created a united front, delivering not only essential relief but also renewed hope and comfort to the refugee community. Grateful for the support, the Rohingya community expressed happiness and appreciation, yet highlighted the continued need for sustainable assistance. The community’s resilience and optimism remain strong, with hopes that ongoing support will further uplift their living conditions and secure a brighter future for their children.
